A Brief History of Exeter Park Volunteer Hose Company

The Exeter Park Volunteer Hose Company gets it's name from a section of town where the Hose Company resides. Exeter Park was founded by Exeter residents in 1971. The main purpose of our company was to provide protection to the north side of town. An additional company was needed because, time to time train traffic divided the town in half. This division would delay Fire Apparatus response to some sections of Exeter. Currently train traffic has all but ceased through our town. Exeter Park now aids all of Exeter Borough and it's surrounding communities. Exeter Park Volunteer Hose also works in conjunction with The National Forestry Department for all of Luzerne County. To this day we are still a group of Volunteers made up of your neighbors, fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, and friends, who put our lives on the line for their community.
